Keto Approved Fruits

While not all of your favorite fruits are keto-approved, you can still enjoy certain fruit and receive the amazing health benefits of fruit.

Before Keto, I never really craved fruit. It wasn’t part of my diet and if I wanted something sweet I would go for ice cream or something very sugar-heavy. Once I was in keto for a while though I did start to naturally crave some fruits. But fruits are high in sugars which means they are high in carbs, so not really a keto-approved food. However, there are some fruits that you can eat on Keto, but in moderation.

Here are the top keto fruits that you can enjoy:

Blackberries

I love Blackberries! They are one of my favorite berries. For a ½ cup serving you will have around 3.1 Net Carbs which makes this a very low carb fruit to have! Blackberries have potassium, vitamin C, vitamin K, and manganese.

A ½ cup serving of Raspberries contains around 3.3 net carbs. This fruit is great for heart health as they contain antioxidants that can help lower blood pressure and improve your arteries! There are also Omega-3 fatty acids in raspberries.

Strawberries

If you are picking up the trend, all berries are very keto-friendly. A ½ cup serving of strawberries has around 4.7 net carbs. They are packed with vitamin C, potassium, folate, and antioxidants! Folate, which is vitamin b, helps with tissue growth and cell function.

Blueberries

Blueberries are a great movie snack to have. They are small and you can pop them into your mouth like many great non-keto movie snacks.  A ½ cup serving of blueberries has around 8 net carbs. Like the other berries, they are high in fiber, vitamin C, vitamin K, folate, and antioxidants.

Starfruit

I recently found out that starfruit was a low-carb fruit! I knew berries were keto-approved fruit and I thought they were the only ones. However, I was wrong! A ½ cup serving of starfruit has 2.6 net carbs. This fruit is packed with potassium and vitamin C.

Lemon & Lime

I don’t expect anyone to take a bite out of a lime or a lemon, but these are two great fruits that you can eat on a keto diet. I like to add lemon to my water and lime to my dinner. The juice from a wedge of a lemon or lime is around .5 net carb and if you juice an entire lemon or lime it is a little over 3 net carbs. These citrus fruits contain vitamin C, Flavanoids, and antioxidants. Lemon and lime can also aid in weight loss.

Cantaloupe

Cantaloupe is on the higher side of keto-approved fruits. A ½ cup serving has around 5.8 net carbs. Despite that it’s higher carb it is a nice flavor change from the typical berries and provides potassium, vitamin C, and vitamin A.

Watermelon

When I found out that I could have watermelon on a keto diet I was so excited! This is my go-to summer fruit! A ½ cup serving has around 5.4 net carbs. Watermelon is super hydrating and has these amazing nutrients – Vitamin C, carotenoids (vitamin A), lycopene (Antioxidants), and cucurbitacin E (anti-inflammatory).

Coconut

We all know that coconut oil is a popular keto oil, but that’s not the only part of the coconut we can enjoy! A ½ cup serving of shredded coconut has 2.5 net carbs. Some great benefits of coconut are its nutrients. It contains manganese, copper, selenium, magnesium, phosphorus, iron, and potassium.
