The latest news coming out of the EU is that 70% of their adult population is vaccinated. This isn’t a headline from media outlets or random people, but a direct quote from the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen.

There are two catches to this statement. The first is that the data from the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) is closer to 65%. The second is that the number from the ECDC is highly disputed amongst well reputable sources.

For example, Germany and the Netherlands don’t actually give full stats details to the ECDC. Sources used by the World Health Organization actually put the figure closer to 57.7% of vaccinated adults in the EU.

Here’s my message: get vaccinated! Sure, the EU fudged their numbers. It’s more likely due to ignorance, not malice. As a bonus, you can listen to The Blaine DeSantis Show en route to your local vaccination center.
